Entering my life
The Holy Spirit is alive and present in my life through my many experiences with my brother, Nolan. All throughout my life, my brother has always been there for me, helping me to make better choices in my life. I see my brother as a physical representation of the Holy Spirit in my life.
When we were younger, my brother and I were at a playground. I got into a fight with another kid named Brian, and my brother came over to stop it. Much to my surprise, my brother told me to apologize to him immediately, regardless of what happened and who started the altercation. After I had apologized, the previously angry and aggressive toddler apologized back, and we had actually become good friends after that. This memory of my brother helping me make the right choice connects with several Gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit, including Right Judgement, Self-Control, Peace, and Knowledge. Apologizing first taught me to think about my actions and the effects they can have on others and for my own future, through Right Judgement. I also took from this that Self Control is something we all need, especially in times of anger, or frustration. The Fruit of Peace was instilled into me from the result of my offer of peace led to his forgiveness. Forgiveness is one of the hardest things we can do to people who hurt us, but is necessary to obtain peace. In addition to this, I gained knowledge of how to handle myself and apply these gifts and fruits in the future.
Supporting Quotes:
"A person without self-control is like a house with its doors and windows knocked out."
(Proverbs 25:28)
"May the Lord show favor toward you, and give you peace." (Numbers 6:26)

In addition to finding the Holy Spirit's presence in my life through others, I often find it in my own actions. Finding the Holy Spirit's influence in my own actions really allowed my to fully recognize what the Holy Spirit is and where is it in my life. In 6th grade, I had been accused for not signing the Infraction book, along with my friend, Christian. When confronted, I had admitted to it, while Christian blatantly denied the fact that he hadn't done it. Due to my honesty, my teacher decided to not even give me the infraction, but Christian's punishment worsened as he had gotten a detention. From that day forth, I have had it established in my mind that honesty is always the best policy. Also, this experience displays the gifts and fruits of: right judgement, courage. Right judgement from the Holy Spirit helped me to understand that making the morally right choices are always the best, and make you a better person. Courage is what I developed from this situation due to the admittance of something I had done wrong, but although it is difficult I learned how the right decision is often times the more difficult one, which courage can help you overcome. From these experiences, I had learned that the Holy Spirit in my Life is present when I am making decisions, whether it be through myself implementing these qualities into my own actions in my current life, or the actions of others helping me learn. The Holy Spirit can be found in different ways in different people's lives, but I believe we all help each other learn from our mistakes and continue to grow and learn about living life in the Holy Spirit, which only strengthens our spiritual lives and our relationship with God.
